Known for his work in the short-lived band of thrashers, Volition, who released a raging
debut in 2017 called “Visions of the Onslaught”, Tulsa, OK native, Malice Von Creitz, advances
forward with his own project, Backskin. “Destiny of Steel and Blood” is the sophomore full
length for this hellish one-man U.S. black metal outfit.
While both unrelenting and visceral at different times, it is also epic and ambitious in it’s delivery,
exploring a variety of influences rolled into a cohesive web of sonic fierceness that is something one
would expect to hear in the heartland of Scandinavia, more so than the heartland of the
U.S. “Destiny of Steel and Blood” clocks in with 9 tracks in all, including the intro, while the
CD version of the release includes a ferocious cover version of “The Invasion of The Lords”
by Oklahoma metal legends, Powerlord.
